For generations of Westminster families, the Westminster Riding Club has been synonymous with summer, as a place where neighbors become lifelong friends, children first learn to swim, and traditions take root across decades. Getting in hasn’t always been easy, though, as the club has at times had a waiting list.

But that’s changing—for the moment at least.

For summer 2026, the nearly 90-year-old club has worked to identify available memberships as some people have moved and others' children have grown older and no longer use their family memberships. With some memberships sitting inactive, families who've been on the waitlist or discouraged by it now have an opportunity to join.

A Legacy With Equestrian Roots

Founded in 1934, the Westminster Riding Club has evolved from its equestrian roots into a swim-and-social club. The club has operated for nearly 9 decades, drawing members who value both its facilities—a 25-meter main pool, a diving pool with a water slide, and a beach volleyball court—and its role as a community gathering place.

Members gain access to the club room with TVs and a pool table, the Horseshoe Bar, year-round social events, and the Westminster Seahorses Swim Team. The club operates seasonally from Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day, with daily hours from 12:00 to 9:00 PM, and extended "Super Saturdays" until 9:45 PM.
