All 49 election day precincts have reported, though provisional ballots remain outstanding. The results below are unofficial.
Governor
Ed Hale and running mate Tyrone Keys, Jr. carried Carroll County's Republican gubernatorial primary with 47.30% of the vote — 6,353 total votes — but it wasn't enough statewide.
Dan Cox and running mate Rob Krop, who finished second in Carroll County at 37.71% (5,064 votes), won the Republican nomination across Maryland and will face incumbent Gov. Wes Moore in a November rematch.
Moore and Lt. Gov. Aruna Miller won the Carroll County Democratic primary with 76.35% (4,059 votes) over challenger Eric S. Felber.
State's Attorney
The closest local race of the night: George Psoras defeated incumbent Allan J. Culver by just 193 votes — 6,816 to 6,623 — a margin of 50.72% to 49.28%. The lead changed shape over the course of the evening as election day votes came in; Culver had led in early voting and mail-in ballots combined heading into Tuesday's count.
Sheriff
Incumbent Jim DeWees won the Republican primary for Carroll County Sheriff with 70.47% of the vote, earning 9,563 votes to Jay Landsman Jr.'s 4,007 (29.53%). Gail F. Wickless ran unopposed on the Democratic side with 4,571 votes.
State Senate — District 42
Kevin Ford won the three-way Republican primary for State Senate District 42 with 47.01% (1,805 votes). Adam Wood finished second at 31.61% (1,214 votes), and Matt Fox third at 21.38% (821 votes).
On the Democratic side, Stephanie Popescu won her primary with 61.23% (736 votes) over Paul Henderson and Paul V. Konka. In District 5, incumbent Sen. Justin Ready ran unopposed and received 8,223 votes.
House of Delegates — District 5
Four Republicans competed for three delegate seats in District 5. April Rose (6,733 votes, 27.87%), Chris Tomlinson (6,718, 27.80%), and Steve Whisler (6,454, 26.71%) advance to the general election. Sallie B. Taylor finished fourth with 4,257 votes (17.62%).
All three Democratic candidates — Alison Rudolph, Dayana Bergman, and Courtney Alexa Welch — advance unopposed from their primary.
County Commissioner
In District 2, Kenneth A. Kiler won the Republican primary with 57.83% (1,854 votes) over Kim Zentz (23.11%) and Todd W. Tracey (19.06%). In District 5, Susan W. Krebs defeated Thomas D. Gibson 70.04% to 29.96% (1,728 to 739 votes).
Incumbents Joe Vigliotti (District 1), Tom Gordon (District 3), and Michael R. Guerin (District 4) ran unopposed on the Republican ballot.
On the Democratic side, Aaron M. Goldsmith (District 1), Dennis E. Frazier (District 3), and Megan Foelber (District 5) all ran unopposed.
Register of Wills
Paul G. Zimmermann won the Republican primary with 73.44% (8,698 votes) over Crystal L. Starner (26.56%, 3,146 votes).
U.S. Congress — District 2
Dave Wallace won the Republican primary for Maryland's 2nd Congressional District with 90.18% (10,124 votes) over Nnabu Eze.
John "Johnny O" Olszewski, Jr. won the Democratic primary at 83.68% (3,882 votes).
