Anyone clearing out outgrown children’s clothes, toys and baby gear, or looking to score a deal on them, has a chance to do both this week. TotSwap brings its fall and winter consignment sale back to the Carroll County Agricultural Center, 706 Agricultural Center Drive, and you still have a chance to sell or shop if you act quickly.
Consignor drop-off began Wednesday morning and runs until 8 p.m. tonight, according to TotSwap's website and the Ag Center's event listing; that's the deadline for anyone hoping to sell: items must be registered, tagged and dropped off by 8 p.m. today to be included in this sale. A ticketed presale follows Thursday, with tickets priced at $7; TotSwap's website lists Thursday shopping windows from 4 to 8 p.m. for consignors and 5 to 8 p.m. for ticketed shoppers.
The sale opens to the general public, free of charge, Friday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and continues Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., according to both TotSwap and the Ag Center. Sunday, Sept. 20 is discount day, with shopping open to everyone without a ticket from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., per TotSwap's website. The sale wraps up Monday, Sept. 21 with a "Dollar Dash" from 9 to 10 a.m., followed by a charity pickup at 10:30 a.m., according to the site.
Organizers say the sale features thousands of items from hundreds of local consignors, including name brands such as Gap, Under Armour, Lilly Pulitzer, Ralph Lauren, OshKosh and Stride Rite. Consignors earn 60 to 75 percent commission on what they sell, according to TotSwap's consignor information page. Cash and major credit cards are accepted, with a 3% surcharge on card transactions, the website states.
