Two generations of fighter pilots are coming to the big screen at RC Theatres in the TownMall of Westminster next week as part of a nationwide 40th anniversary celebration.
Paramount Pictures announced that audiences nationwide will experience the original Top Gun back on the big screen for a special one-week-only theatrical event beginning May 13. The original Top Gun opens in Westminster on Wednesday, May 13th at 7:00 PM.
Directed by Tony Scott and starring Tom Cruise as the iconic Pete "Maverick" Mitchell, alongside Kelly McGillis and Tom Skerritt, the 1986 blockbuster follows a class of elite Navy pilots at the Fighter Weapons School as they push their aircraft and themselves to the limit. The film is rated PG and runs 1 hour and 50 minutes. Tickets are $14 for adults, $11 for children and seniors (with a $2 convenience fee included).
Top Gun: Maverick (the 2026 re-release) opens the same day at 4:00 PM. The sequel, directed by Joseph Kosinski, brings Tom Cruise back as Maverick alongside a new generation of actors, including Miles Teller and Jennifer Connelly. Val Kilmer, who played Cruise's rival "Iceman" in the original film, returns for the sequel.
While Kelly McGillis and Tom Skerritt don't return, the film follows Maverick as he mentors a new class of Navy pilots. It's rated PG-13 and runs 2 hours 11 minutes. Tickets for Maverick are $12 for adults, $10 for children and seniors (same $2 convenience fee applies).
Both films run through May 21st at 400 North Center Street in Westminster. You can purchase tickets online through the RC Theatres website or at the box office. Reserved seating is available for both showings.
