🏗️ P&Z Approves 404 Malcolm Drive Design; Goddard School Signs On
The Westminster Planning and Zoning Commission has approved the building design for a medical office building and preschool at 404 Malcolm Drive, clearing one of the last approvals the project needs before breaking ground. Developer Obrecht Properties says The Goddard School has signed a lease for the 12,000-square-foot building, answering the open question of what would fill the site's second building alongside a 22,000-square-foot medical office.

On the outskirts of Westminster, former biology teacher Nasiha Ocasio is selling hand-crafted sourdough loaves alongside fresh flower bouquets grown on her family's farm, Goodness Pastures. Her path ran through the late Ruth Thompson's Rare Opportunity Bakehouse on Main Street, where she learned commercial production and helped convert recipes for consistency.

Several downtown businesses are marking the midsummer holiday with sales, seasonal treats, and appearances by Santa. Starry Night Bakery (330 One Forty Village Road) is running holiday cupcake flavors — Buddy the Elf, The Grinch, Rudolph's Nose — through Saturday, July 25. KELLY + CO. (185 E. Main St.) has its lowest prices of the summer through July 31. Collision Course (61 E. Main St.) welcomes Santa to Sunday brunch on July 26, 10:30 a.m.–2:30 p.m. And Caring Carroll hosts a pop-up shop with a "Jailhouse Elvis" photo op Friday, July 24, noon–4 p.m. at 255 Clifton Blvd.
