The Downtown Westminster Farmers Market will open for the season on Saturday, May 16, and will operate every Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon through November 21.
The market, which has operated for over 30 years, uses a producer-only model—meaning vendors must grow or produce the goods they sell, rather than resell items sourced elsewhere. It's Carroll County's oldest continuously running farmers market and maintains the longest seasonal schedule of any market in the county.
On any given Saturday, the market typically features local produce, pasture-raised meats, eggs, artisan breads, roasted coffee, and prepared foods. The specific mix varies week to week depending on the harvest and what vendors have available.
This year, the market's organizers are planning special programming throughout the summer, including live demonstrations, animal meet-and-greets, and educational activities.
The market is held at the Conway Parking Lot at Railroad Avenue (Route 27), adjacent to Main Street in downtown Westminster.
