The Free State Daylily Society holds its Annual Bloom Show at the Carroll County Agriculture Center on Saturday, June 27, from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Blizzard Building at 700 Smith Ave., Westminster, MD 21157. This is the first year the show has been held at this location.
Society members will display daylily blooms cut from their own gardens, entered across categories including mini, small, large, extra-large, double, spider/unusual form, arrangement, and seedling. Members will be on hand throughout the morning to answer questions about the blooms and offer advice on growing daylilies in the local area.
According to the event listing on the Agriculture Center website, the show offers the opportunity to see varieties that don't appear at commercial garden centers. Attendees can use the show as a preview for the society's upcoming plant sales: August 1 at McLean's Nursery in Parkville and August 2 at Benson-Hammond Historic House in Linthicum Heights.
Admission to the show is free. A limited selection of plants will be available for purchase at the show with cash only.
