The Carroll Arts Center in Westminster presents performances of Roald Dahl's Matilda the Musical, Jr. this weekend, while the Carroll County Arts Council has also announced a full slate of youth summer programming running through August.

Elementary students will perform the Broadway Junior adaptation on Friday, May 15, at 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, May 16, at 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. The story follows Matilda, a girl with extraordinary intelligence and imagination, who faces a cruel home life and a tyrannical school headmistress. Her teacher, Miss Honey, recognizes her potential. The production centers on Matilda and her classmates standing up to the adults in their lives.

Tickets range from $6 to $8 and are available on the Carroll County Arts Council website. The box office can be reached at 410-848-7272.
