Carroll Community College will host a series of public music performances this spring, featuring both student ensembles and a free video game music concert.

Symphony of Heroes Concert

The college will first present the 2nd Annual Symphony of Heroes, a free orchestral concert celebrating video game music.

The performance takes place Thursday, April 30 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Scott Center’s Kelly W. Hill Theater on campus.

The program will feature orchestral arrangements from popular video games including Skyrim, The Legend of Zelda, Halo, Tetris, Super Mario, and The Last of Us, highlighting the emotional storytelling power of modern game soundtracks.

Admission is free for all attendees.

Student Ensemble Concert Series

Following the video game concert, Carroll Community College will present its Spring Student Ensemble Concert Series, showcasing student musicians performing under faculty direction.

The series begins May 2 at 3 p.m. with the Westminster Symphony Orchestra, continues with the Rock ’N’ Roll Ensembles on May 11 at 7 p.m., and concludes with the Jazz Combo on May 15 at 7 p.m.

All performances will be held at the Kelly W. Hill Theater in the Scott Center on campus.
