Westminster readers have a strong reason to stay local this April—three author events are coming to the Carroll County Public Library’s Westminster Branch, bringing book launches, discussions, and signings to downtown Westminster.
All events take place at Exploration Commons and each offers a chance to meet authors and dive deeper into their latest work.
✍️ April 21 – Jean Burgess (6:30 PM)
The series kicks off with a book release party for Jean Burgess and her novel Navigating Her Next Chapter. Set in 1981, the story follows a young writer leaving Maryland’s Eastern Shore for New York City, capturing the challenges of reinvention, friendship, and finding your place in a completely new world.
✍️ April 28 – Lee Adams (6:30 PM)
Next up, Lee Adams brings Love on Tour, a contemporary novel set in the country music scene. The story explores the realities behind life on tour—blending friendship, ambition, jealousy, and romance in a fast-moving, high-pressure environment.
✍️ April 30 – Colleen Cambridge (6:30 PM)
Closing out the month, Colleen Cambridge presents In the Spirit of French Murder, a mystery set in postwar Paris. The novel follows an American expat navigating life abroad—with none other than Julia Child as part of the story—while uncovering a deeper mystery simmering beneath the surface.
Opened in December 2021, Exploration Commons is a modern extension of the Westminster library featuring a makerspace, teaching kitchen, and flexible learning areas. Designed as a hands-on, collaborative space, it gives the community a place to learn new skills, create, and connect.
