Back in December, 140 Village Shopping Center in Westminster made a splash on social media when it announced that three new tenants would be joining the center on Jermor Lane: Wingstop, Crunch Fitness, and Brewery Fire, a handcrafted Carroll County microbrewery.

The December 29, 2025, Facebook post read: "Big things are happening at 140 VILLAGE SHOPPING CENTER... These additions bring even more energy, flavor and local character to 140 VILLAGE. We are looking forward to sharing opening details. STAY TUNED!"

That post racked up reactions and shares. Crunch Fitness has opened, and Brewery Fire appears to be moving along. But there’s been no sign of a Wingstop until recently.

No opening date. No follow-up. Just the quiet hum of anticipation from Carroll County wing lovers wondering when, exactly, they'd be able to cash in on Wingstop's famous flavors without driving to the Baltimore suburbs. A Wingstop sign went up on the center’s main display, but there was no sign of construction.

Now there's a new clue: a building permit has been spotted at the 140 Village location, suggesting the buildout could be moving forward.

Wingstop, the national chain known for its wide range of wing flavors, has been steadily expanding across Maryland, with locations in Gambrills, Glen Burnie, Germantown, and beyond. A Westminster outpost would mark the brand's entry into Carroll County.

No official opening date has been announced yet by either Wingstop or 140 Village Shopping Center. Westminster Wire reached out to a Wingstop contact listed on the permit and will continue to monitor the construction progress.
